Some ME time

It took 5 months for everything to get fixed and properly healed, but I am please to say that in the beginning of October my OB/GYN told me that everything was finally healed after a successful reconstructive surgery. Which means I can go back to a normal life again and be my active self once more (I've got to admit that after 5 months of being almost bedridden, getting up and at em' was not easy).

So at the end of September I started school once more with a new major in Urban and Regional Planning - something completely opposite and different then what I have done and what I am use too, but I love it so far. Its hard work and it's going to take a lot of dedication, but I thank God that I have such a loving and supporting husband who understands that graduating means the world to me. It is going to take a lot longer then I would like, but after all the complaining I've done I realize that its worth it in the end. I can only take away so much time from Sophie and she is my number one, along side my amazing husband.

Speaking of husband, Christian is enjoying his six weeks of rest. Rest from work that is. He is so lucky to have the job that he has, for the time being, because they allowed him to take 6 weeks of Paid Family Leave, which he is thoroughly enjoying. But I think he enjoys just being able not to work and get a little me time for himself as well. It helps that Sophie has transitioned into being a somewhat difficult baby into a now playful baby and does not need so much attention, that is to say the "crying" attention. She is a lot easier to handle now that she enjoys playing by herself and with her toys throughout the day.

I do have to say my only sadness is that now I have to go back to work, which will happen sometime next week. For me that is the hardest part. Going back to school for 3 days, 6 1/2 hours on Mondays and Wednesday and 3 hours on Fridays is hard enough, but now it looks like I'll be working 3 days on top of that so that Christian and I can save money so that we are closer to moving out on our own. I love my Sophie and it's so hard to be away from her, and though I enjoy my "me" time at school, that's the only "me" time I want. I wish to God I could be a stay at home mom... perhaps one day but right now we are trying to do everything we can to better our family's future.

I have some projects that I'll post soon from my 5 months with Sophie. But that's all for now.

Hope you enjoyed!

The Sweetest Laugh

One of our favorite traits about Sophie is her sweet laugh. Sometimes they come out of nowhere and other times we seek it out, but either way it's so intoxicating.

Hope you enjoy!

5 Month Sophie Owl

Today is such a beautiful day and Loewy's made the best of it by going to Old Town Temecula for some pictures I had to take for a class and quality time together. Sophie is 5 months today and we are so incredibly proud of her. Christian and I have bets as to when she will actually crawl. I think in the next 2 weeks, he thinks at the end of October.

It was a hot day in Old Town Temecula but it was beautiful nonetheless.

Papa time.

Bragging Right!

Sophie is growing up so quickly, each and every day there is a new surprise. If it's not her cute little voice she finds more and more every day, it's her rolling, her happy baby feet pose, jumping while holding her, or her cute little laugh, now Sophie is sitting up on her own, playing with toys, and "standing" on all four's. She is truly the highlight of our every day. And today her tooth finally broke through the gums and needless to say, the pain is very present. Both for her, of course, and myself.

Here's a documentation of the last few days.
Last weekend we had a visit at Nana and Bumpa's house. Justice was so excited about Sophie. Unfortunately I don't have the picture of him holding her, but it's so cute.

Sophie likes to cuddle with Mama.

I made delicious Banana crumb muffins!

Sophie loves to sit and play. It was a cold day so she looks all snuggy-looking.

She's so ready to crawl!
(I tried to put a video, but it wouldn't load)

Hope you enjoyed!

Check up Time

Sophie had her late 4 month check up and it was very exciting! She is 16 lbs and 10 oz, in the 90%. She is 25 1/2 inches long, in the 75%. And her head is in the 50%. Her doctor is very pleased with her progression and how strong she is. Some of Sophie's accomplishments so far are:
*Can roll over from both sides and from back to belly and belly to back
*She can hold her head up high and look around
*She does the army crawl
*She sits up on her own, but can't get there.
*She can hold her head on her own, no more bobble head
*She likes to jump. She marches in her little jumper.
*She knows her feet
*Can follow objects
*Grabs at toys
*She laughs out loud
*Smiles at smiles
*Responds to her name, or to voices
... as you can see Sophie is very talented.

Sophie is such a big girl, sitting up on her own.

Another exciting event that happened today was that Sophie had her first rice cereal experience. And of course, we documented it for your viewing pleasure.
She started off by chewing on the high chair.

She was very interested in what Mama had for her.

And in it goes!

Give me that Spoon Mama.

I should have just let her feed herself.

Happy Sophie!

Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Sophie didn't reject the spoon and she took to the feeding very well. She's getting so big. *tear*

Yesterday was also an exciting day. Sophie had her first visit to Disneyland!
Papa dressed up for the occasion and we went trick or treating. Sophie was intrigued!

We hope you enjoyed!
